Les Jickling is an independent consultant and former healthcare executive who spent many years in the technology and biotechnology sectors. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Master’s degree in Business Administration.
Throughout his life he has been active in the community with various athletic and service organizations. He is a former Ironman triathlete, an open water swimmer and an expedition kayaker.
In 2001 he led an expedition into the hills of Iceland in search of buried Viking treasure. In 2005 he completed a perilous 5,000 km journey down the Blue Nile in support of World Water Monitoring Day.
Since 2013 he has been actively involved in an organization devoted to raising money and funding palliative care programs in BC. For many years he was an active volunteer and three-time past president of the Vancouver Open Water Swimming Association.
Les has served on the Conservative riding associations for North Vancouver and Vancouver Quadra in a number of capacities since 2006.
Les lives in the Edgemont Village area of North Vancouver with his wife Michelle, son Benjamin and dog Max. His favourite ways to relax on the weekend are hiking the Grouse Grind or enjoying many of the North Shore’s excellent trails. During the week he is an energetic bicycle commuter.
